Job Growth in Ohio

Northeast Ohio has seen job growth for four full quarters in a row now, with the area’s 16 counties seeing an increase of around 40,000 jobs within the last year. Since the recession started really hitting the country in 2007, this was the first time that the job growth actually carried over into the next year in Ohio as well.

Most of the job increases in the area have been attributed to the manufacturing sector. In terms of national growth, Ohio is subsequently showing a better recovery than the average. Unemployment also dropped faster than the national average, with a 2% decrease during this time period.
